CCTV footage released by Network Rail has captured some of the near-miss moments where members of the public have risked their lives on railway lines, often distracted by mobile phones.
The changes, set to be rolled out across the country in coming years, mean Britain will be following in the footsteps of Europe as it introduces the digital-only technology.
Around 20 railway stations were targeted during the incident which happened just after 5pm on September 25 which saw the web page of the wifi with an 'Islamophobic' message.
